Second lunar eclipse in a month is called ‘Blue Blood Moon’.

Earth is going to witness a super blue moon. There will be a total lunar eclipse during which the moon will appear to be reddish. It is the second total lunar eclipse in the month of January 2018 and according to NASA solar eclipse, a second total lunar eclipse in a month is called ‘blue blood moon’.

A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth corner in between the sun and the moon and shadow of earth fall upon the moon.

Also, it is the time when the moon will be closest to Earth due to which it will appear bigger than normal and this state is called a Supermoon.

Combining both effects it has been named as a super blue blood moon.

For India,  According Nasa Solar eclipse will be visible first in the North -East between 4:21 PM and 5:18 PM IST rest of India will be able to see it between 5:18 PM to 6:21 PM IST.

The west coast and parts of Rajasthan will see this between 6:21 PM to 7:37 PM IST on January 31.

Last time something like this happened on 31 March 1866, It is a lifetime chance for astronomy lovers, so step out and watch it.
